UCQ Classical Music Concert - 3pm at 70 Cordelia St, South Brisbane

Performances include works by Bach, Bouffil, Featow, Franko, Garcia-Palao, Gluck, Lysenko, Mozart, Myaskov, Petrie, Shevchenko, Stetsenko, Stetsjun, Woronyj and Yanitskyj, in addition to some Ukrainian folk classics.

A concert to commemorate the works and achievements of Taras Shevchenko will be held on Sunday the 13th of March at the Ukrainian Community Hall, days after the 150th anniversary of his death.

Please join us for a commemorative lunch, followed by readings of his works and performances of some of the many musical masterpieces his writings inspired. Prints of some of his artwork can be displayed on request.

Please be seated for lunch before 11:45am, and be ready for the curtains to open at 1:15pm. Tickets are $12, or $6 for school-aged children.

LCA Open Day - 3pm at 70 Cordelia St, South Brisbane

linux.conf.au, one of the world's premier Linux and Open Source conferences, is holding a public Open Day on Saturday the 29th of January from 10am until 4pm.

All are welcome to join conference participants, community groups, industry vendors and sponsors to discuss free/open source software, find out what we've been up to at the conference or just grab some free merchandise.

Our annual Schedriy Vechir meal will be held after the Blessing of the Waters on Sunday, the 23rd of January. All proceeds will be donated to victims of the recent floods in Queensland.

Divine Liturgy will begin at 9am in the church, celebrating the feast of the Baptism of Our Lord (Theophany). The church hall will open for lunch at approximately 12 noon.

Years 6 and 7 from Coopers Plains State School present Kids in Camelot! Brush up on your Monty Python and Danny Kaye, and leave your preconceptions about Arthurian England at home before enjoying this engaging and light-hearted production.

Show starts at 6pm in the new school hall. For further entertainment, musical items from younger grades will follow after the performance.
